Signs of Computer Vision

Computer Vision

Computer vision is an increasingly common condition that affects a high percentage of those who work on computers. Up to 90% of people who spend all day in front of a computer may develop it. If you're one of the many computer workers today, you may have a wide range of symptoms that can develop. Computer screens can force the eyes to work harder and this is what leads the eyes to develop problems. If you live in or around Vero Beach and suspect that you might be developing computer vision, contact World of Vision to schedule an eye exam with Dr. Weiss.

Symptoms of Computer Vision

Computer vision can show up with many different symptoms. You might notice that your vision is doubled or that everything is blurry. Your eyes might feel tired or fatigued and they may feel dry. Computer vision can cause the eyes to itch and burn and feel strained. They may feel irritated overall. This condition can cause your eyes to water and look red.

It can cause headaches as well. You may even have pain in your neck and back. If you have eyes that feel irritated or otherwise abnormal and you work in front of a computer all day, it's a good bet that the problem may be computer vision. It's a good idea to get an eye exam and to see an optician. You may want to get blue-blocking glasses to help with some of the symptoms.

Computer Vision Treatment

There are treatments for this condition and many people also like to use home remedies to provide even more relief. One of these remedies is to take a break from looking at the computer for 20 seconds every 20 minutes. During that time, look at an object that's 20 feet away. You can also reorient your screen so that there's no glare on it. This can relieve some of the strain it takes to see it.
